Important Update on Potential Work Stoppage at Georgia Ports



Dear Valued Clients,


We would like to update you on the ongoing negotiations between USMX and ILA for U.S. East Coast and Gulf Ports, which could potentially lead to a work stoppage beginning on October 1, 2024. To minimize any disruptions to your operations, please take note of the following important information:


1. Cargo Delivery

Imports: We strongly recommend scheduling your cargo deliveries before October1 to   avoid potential delays and storage costs.

Exports:We will continue to handle export shipments until September30.


2. Reefer Exports

• Reefer exports will be accepted until September30. Please be advised that GPA will not be   liable for any loss or damage to reefer contents if they are not loaded onto vessels by this    date.


3. Free Time Policy

• During any work stoppage, all containers will be placed on “free time,” meaning no storage   charges will apply.


4. Extended Gate Hours


Garden City Terminal:

Saturday, September 21:    08:00-17:00 hrs (Reefer services available)

Saturday, September 28:    08:00-17:00 hrs (Reefer services available)

Sunday, September 29:    08:00-17:00 hrs (Reefer services available)


Ocean Terminal:

Normal hours Monday-Friday:   

08:00–12:00 hrs, 13:00–17:00 hrs (Closed for lunch: 12:00–13:00 hrs)


Port of Brunswick:

Colonel’s Island: Contact your processor for hours.

Mayor’s Point: Monday-Friday 08:00-16:00 hrs.
